Matt Welch works on a range of intellectual property matters, focusing primarily on patent litigation and patent prosecution. Mr. Welch has experience with wind energy, oil and gas, computer software, mechanical devices, and medical equipment.
Mr. Welch received his J.D. from Wake Forest University, where he served as a Notes & Comments editor on the Wake Forest Law Review and as a Moot Court Board member. In the classroom, Mr. Welch distinguished himself by earning the highest grade in nine classes.
Before law school, Mr. Welch attended Clemson University and received a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, graduating first in his class. At Clemson, Mr. Welch served as President of Pi Tau Sigma and was awarded the Blue Key Academic & Leadership Award for the College of Engineering and Science for distinguished academic scholarship and campus leadership.
