His practice spans a wide range of technological fields, including manufacturing equipment and processes, consumer products and packaging, medical devices, and computer software.
Paul's experience in various aspects of patent law provides him with insight into the different phases of a patent's life. Representing clients before the Patent Office, Paul has drafted documents ranging from consumer packaging patent applications, to medical device office action responses, to video coding Inter Partes Review petitions and expert declarations. Before the ITC and District Court, Paul has drafted pre-hearing briefs, invalidity contentions, and expert reports. Paul's litigation experience includes multi-patent disputes involving several technologies, such as magnetic storage media, split-screen user interface software, and DSL internet systems.
