Mr. Avery works on a range of intellectual property matters, focusing primarily on patent prosecution, counseling and diligence. Mr. Avery has experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications relating to a wide range of technologies, including medical devices, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, clean tech, sports tech, software and semiconductor arts.
He also has experience in FDA regulatory matters, particularly dealing with the Hatch-Waxman Act, ANDA litigation and the regulation of generic drugs. In addition to providing legal services for his clients, Mr. Avery is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he teaches courses on Patent Prosecution and Food & Drug Law. He previously taught at Santa Clara University, School of Law.
Mr. Becker is a patent attorney with a background in computer engineering. Mr. Becker's practice focuses on intellectual property matters, including complex patent litigation, patent prosecution and patent portfolio development. Mr. Becker's practice has involved a diverse range of technologies, including telecommunications, cellular, semiconductors, electronics, software and robotics.
He has substantial experience in district court litigation, including pleadings, pretrial discovery, invalidity analysis, claim construction, oral argument at Markman hearings, summary judgment, pretrial disclosures and trial. Mr. Becker also has experience in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Mr. Everett represents public and private companies in a variety of corporate matters. Mr. Everett focuses principally on mergers and acquisitions, including negotiated acquisitions and divestitures as well as equity and debt securities offerings. His practice also focuses on structuring and forming joint ventures and other investment vehicles as well as a variety of cross-border transactions. He also advises clients regarding Exchange Act reporting, stock exchange compliance and corporate governance.
Mr. Everett's practice includes the representation of management teams and private equity providers, largely in upstream oil and gas projects. His practice also involves the representation of commercial banks, other institutional lenders and investors, as well as borrowers and issuers of securities, in various forms of financing transactions.
Ms. Farah's practice focuses on international arbitration. Her practice involves a mixture of commercial and investment-treaty arbitration.
Ms. Farah has extensive experience with arbitral practice and procedure both in civil and common law systems. Her practice also includes representation in public international law arbitrations and pre-contentious advice on various international law and cross-border issues.
Ms. Farah has acted as counsel in both institutional and ad hoc arbitrations (including under the ICSID, ICC, LCIA and UNCITRAL rules).
She also teaches regularly on international arbitration topics and is the co-author of a chapter on Arbitration in London: Features of the London Court of International Arbitration.
Mr. Fareed has experience in intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on patent litigation before Federal district courts, the Federal Circuit, the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeals Board. He has represented clients in a broad spectrum of technologies, such as computer software, e-commerce, telecommunications, data processing, semiconductors, magnetic tape storage as well as medical and dental devices.
His litigation experience ranges from jury trials, bench trials, ITC evidentiary hearings, Markman hearings, summary judgment proceedings, to all aspects of fact and expert discovery. Mr. Fareed's transactional experience includes negotiating license agreements, advising clients on intellectual property acquisitions and conducting due diligence.
Ms. Fore provides ongoing representation to corporate clients, including public issuers, private companies and venture and private equity funds. She advises clients regarding all manner of corporate issues, including public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases, SEC compliance and disclosure, corporate governance and other general corporate matters.
Ms. Gonzales practices in all areas of intellectual property law, including patent litigation, patent prosecution and licensing. Ms. Gonzales works on patent litigation matters involving a variety of technologies, including mechanical and electrical devices and computer systems. Her litigation experience also includes copyright infringement and Lanham Act actions.
Ms. Gonzales practices before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, preparing and prosecuting patent applications involving an equally wide array of technologies. In addition, Ms. Gonzales advises clients on IP-related aspects of corporate transactions and license agreements.
Mr. Henderson advises public and private companies and private equity funds in connection with complex transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, funding arrangements, portfolio company formations and joint ventures. He has significant experience in the energy and technology industries.
He also represents corporate clients and investment banks in various capital markets transactions involving public and private securities offerings, including IPOs, follow-on equity offerings, 144A transactions and, in connection with Chapter 11 restructurings, rights offerings. He also counsels clients on Exchange Act reporting, stock exchange compliance and other corporate governance matters.
Mr. Looper has in-depth understanding of the energy supply chain arising from his work on numerous energy projects in the lower 48 United States, Alaska, Hawaii, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Venezuela. His work focuses primarily on midstream, LNG and upstream energy industry project development activities, including divestitures, mergers and acquisitions, asset construction and asset operations.
He has negotiated contracts for owners, operators and customers related to the purchase and sale, production, transportation, gathering, storage and processing of crude oil, gas, natural gas, LNG, NGLs and their refined products and related assets. He has also worked on various regulatory and litigation matters in connection with state and federal energy regulatory agencies.
Mr. Lynn's practice focuses on complex patent litigation in the areas of software, satellite communications, set-top box technology, IC power management, semiconductor design and manufacture, databases and data warehousing. His experience ranges from pre-filing investigation all the way through appeal. He has also counseled clients and prosecuted patent applications in many fields, including credit card payment systems, printing systems, cloud computing, Time Encoding Machines (specialized Analog-to-Digital converters), augmented reality systems and semiconductor manufacturing.
Ms. Turner is experienced in multinational merger reviews and criminal and civil antitrust investigations. She has counseled clients through all stages of the merger review process, including representing parties before the antitrust agencies, complying with government information requests and coordinating antitrust filings in numerous foreign jurisdictions.
She has defended U.S. and foreign corporations and individuals in grand jury investigations involving allegations of price fixing, bid rigging and market allocation. In criminal investigations, she has assisted clients with a range of cartel defense strategies, including obtaining leniency status and designation as a cooperating witness.
Ms. Williams advises clients across industrial and commercial sectors on complex environmental matters. Paulina's experience spans water quality, water rights, waste, air and natural resources issues. She has worked extensively on environmental permitting, including contested case hearings, cross-agency consultations and permit defense in state and federal court actions.
She advises clients on environmental compliance, including guiding clients under the Texas Environmental, Health and Safety Audit Privilege Act, and helping with enforcement actions. In addition, Ms. Williams litigates environmental claims and provides transactional support in deals involving significant environmental permits, liabilities or risks.
