WASHINGTON, D.C., December 21, 2016 - Baker Botts, a leading international law firm, announced today that firm antitrust partner, Tom Dillickrath, has been appointed as the next Deputy Chief Trial Counsel for the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”), Bureau of Competition. As one of the antitrust bureau’s most senior litigators, Mr. Dillickrath will help litigate antitrust cases brought by the FTC involving mergers and acquisitions and other business practices affecting U.S. consumers.
Mr. Dillickrath joined Baker Botts in 2011 as part of the core of the ex-Howrey antitrust group that transitioned to Baker Botts. In private practice, he has counseled clients in a wide variety of antitrust matters, from complex litigation and appeals to merger clearances and other government investigations. For mergers and investigations, he has represented clients before domestic and foreign competition agencies and across a wide band of industries. His client industry experience is broad, with particular experience in oil and gas, chemicals, consumer goods, airlines, high-tech industries, and telecommunications.
