DALLAS, June 10, 2016 - Baker Botts L.L.P, a leading international law firm, announced today that firm Financial Restructuring partner, Omar J. Alaniz has been shortlisted by Chambers and Partners in their inaugural Chambers Diversity Awards USA 2016 for his work in the LGBT community.
Mr. Alaniz represents debtors and creditors in chapter 11 cases and has substantial experience in bankruptcy-related litigation and appeals, particularly in energy-related matters. He is the Chair Elect of the Texas State Bar’s Bankruptcy Section and former chair of the Dallas Bankruptcy Bar.
In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Mr. Alaniz was recognized in 2013 by the National LGBT Bar Association as one of the “Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40” and in 2012, he received the “Sandra Day O’Connor Award for Professional Service” by the U.S. Supreme Court at an event hosted by Chief Justice, John G. Roberts, Jr.
