Patent Infringement Case Focus of Scheve Interview With ‘Promise of Tomorrow’ Radio Show

HOUSTON, November 12, 2008 -- The first patent infringement case of a nanotechnology drug delivery method successfully taken to jury trial was the focus of a recent interview Firm lawyer Stephen Scheve gave to The Promise of Tomorrow radio show. The discussion, which also covered the importance of patents in protecting innovations in the field of nanotechnology, followed the Firm’s participation in the NANOtx 2008 conference earlier this year.

Asked by the show’s host about how companies can protect their patents in a global economy, Scheve replied that “steps are taken to secure patent protection by them in countries all around the world. It’s not just the U.S. portfolio of patents. Of course, as part of the business model, companies have to be in a position where they’re monitoring whether or not the patents have been infringed and taking steps to protect their intellectual property.”

Scheve’s practice focuses on pharmaceutical litigation, including products liability, commercial and patent litigation. His emphasis over the past 27 years has been in the pharmaceutical, medical device and chemical industries. He has defended and tried cases throughout the country and has acted as national coordinating counsel for clients in multiple litigations, each involving lawsuits in over thirty states.

The Promise of Tomorrow, which airs weekly in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on the Science News Network, is dedicated to the business of emerging and nano technologies.
