Baker Botts was delighted to co-host an event with Teynier Pic last week during Paris Arbitration Week. We presented the findings from our world-first comparative study of ICSID and non-ICSID annulment proceedings. This is a sequel to our 2021 study on annulment in ICSID arbitration (published in conjunction with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law).

Senior Associate Jack Biggs presented some key takeaways from the study. Baker Botts partner Dr. Johannes Koepp and Sara Nadeau-Seguin (Teynier Pic) then moderated a panel discussion featuring Baker Botts partner David Turner, Dr. Yas Banifatemi (Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes) and Pierre Pic (Teynier Pic). The panel shared their thoughts on several topics, including recent developments in investor-state annulment proceedings before the French and Swedish courts, and possible avenues for future reform.
